PONY HAVING THE TIME OF HER FUCKING LIFE IN THE SNOW
baby tiger teases dog
Aside from how wrong it is to have a tiger in your kitchen, along with a dog, can we just look at how malformed this tiger’s forepaws are from living on hard floors rather than natural earth? Yeah that’s arthritis in the making.
its cute and the owners will care for it with a vets help
No, you should never own a tiger. They are a wild animal, not meant for domestication. If you do own one because you’re a moron who believes a tiger makes the best pet it should be kept outside in a large, natural enclosure. Tigers are my favourite animal and it pains me to see morons attempting to domesticate a tiger. Even people who well known for forming deep bonds with powerful animals such as this do so in THE ANIMAL’S natural environment and warn people not to attempt to keep them as pets.
"They have a vet, everything’s okay. Plus it’s cute."
So if I keep a baby in squalor conditions because it’s cute and I have a doctor for it, suddenly it’s okay? Even as it’s growing up and will develop health problems that could’ve been prevented by another parent?
Hell NO. These animals *do not belong in captive conditions.* I can’t emphasize it enough! They are NOT house cats! That tiger is at a perfect size to take down that dog if it wanted to. They’re predators, and one little switch of the brain can set them off..
Say bye bye to your dog.
They are natural born killers, and you can’t take that out of them. Nor can you provide them with the enrichment and living conditions they would have in the wild. It’s selfish to think otherwise.
HOkay, let’s take this down a notch. Since the source of the gif isn’t listed, could it possibly be that the tiger cub is being raised in captivity for good reason? Abandoned by its mother? Belongs to a zoo? Perhaps the dog’s next move is to playfully chase after the huge kitten and have a good rough-house. WE DON’T KNOW, CAUSE IT’S JUST A GIF!
Granted, tigers should not ever be considered house pets; they are majestic wild creatures, and to ask them to be anything else is just plain cruel. But, I see a lot of assumptions made above based on one little gif.
How about sourcing the gif and explaining the circumstances before we get all hot under the collar about it?
The tiger is a pet.
He lives with Michael Jamison in South Africa.
He shares the home with his owners while also living on concrete outside.
Whether we knew the source of this gif or not there is no circumstance where it is acceptable to have a tiger in your kitchen rough housing with your dog.
It’s already been established that the tiger is NOT where he belongs. These animals are not pets, and should never be treated as such. Period.
Now that that’s out of the way, can we focus for a second on how terrible this is not just for the big cat, but also for the poor dog? Prior to being pawed by the tiger, he is sitting rigid, tense, and staring straight ahead. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know that this means “I am not comfortable with your close proximity. Kindly fuck off.”
When the big cat finally oversteps his bounds and taps the dog, the dog reacts defensively, barking and lunging at the offending tiger. What would happen if the dog actually got a hold of the cat? Chances are, blood would be drawn on both sides.
Putting these animals at risk like that for the sake of a ‘funny’ video to post on the interwebs is the epitome of selfishness. Clearly, if the owner is the kind of person who does stupid shit like this, he’s not cut out to keep any animals, let alone a feline predator which will soon tip the scales at 300+ pounds.
Animal care: You’re doing it wrong.
